Master Monsters
Diablo
One of the Three, Diablo is the Lord of Terror, master of all things that cause a mortal's heart to go weak with fear. His minions have learned well from his example, which brings him a never ending source of amusement and power.
Lazerus
He who has succumbed to the call of the unholy, Lazerus once served as the archbishop to the people of Tristram. Now a shadow of the great man he was, Lazerus serves Diablo as a lackey, to be commanded at the Lord of Terror's every whim.
The Skeleton King
All that remains of the once proud King Leoric, the Skeleton King commands the undead troops of Diablo against the people of Tristram. To some it is believed that Leoric's soul still remains, trapped in the shell of this undead abomination. However none have survived the dungeons in order to report any conclusive findings on the matter.
The Butcher
A truly wicked demon in the service of Diablo, the Butcher's prime directive is to torture the souls from his captives as slowly and painfully as possible. It was this demon who slaughtered a group of villagers who were led into the catacombs by Lazarus the Betrayer. After this horrid creature is done with his victims, they are set into hooks that hang from the ceiling of his lair. One might suppose this is a testament to the demon's ability to prolong the effects of torture much longer than is thought possible.
